Crowns
Crowns – are individual prosthetic constructions that require presence of a tooth that will be carrier of the crown, or there should be at least the tooth’s root.
Crowns are made in the following cases:
- When the natural tooth due to caries has lost its function and aesthetics almost completely
- When there’s a discoloration of the tooth (yellow, gray, dark teeth) or when there’s a devitalization of the tooth (teeth that had endodontic treatment)
Crowns as well as the bridges can be made out of metal ceramics or full ceramics. Here we have the same techniques of work that we mentioned before when we talked about dental bridges.
